WHEN IN BALI: Amazing Time at Piasan Restaurant, Nusa Dua!

Hi there my beloved readers!

So over the coming months I will be sharing some information of nice places I had visited in Bali. This post will be the start. As I have stated on this post, last September I got the opportunity to review some awesome places with MakanLuar and two blogger friends, Ian from JKTGO & BALIGO and Indita from Tasteritos. I’m gonna start with this restaurant that caught my attention for being too gorgeous! What’s making it gorgeous? Surprise, surprise: bamboos. But you’re gonna learn that they are more than just a pretty exterior, because the food is equally magnificent!

So let me welcome you to…

Gorgeous, isn’t it? And they have this grand entrance which I really like. I felt like I was in a sequence of Indiana Jones movie when I walked into this “tunnel.” Hihi.

This place is even more gorgeous at night!

Now let’s park the talk about the exterior and go to the real deal: THE FOOD. So Piasan has two areas to dine in. One is named Tetaring for brekkie and lunch and so on, and the other one is THE Piasan, a fine dining section which is available for Lunch and Dinner. If you wish to have an intimate party with your darlings, or just a romantic dinner with your beau, then I would suggest you to sit here (if possible, near the edge of the pond by night!) and indulge yourself with a full course of modern Italian cuisine cooked by Executive Chef Denny and his team. SO SO GOOD.

Executive Chef Denny – Has more than 20 years of culinary experience with previous experiences at Amanwana resort, Kayumanis Ubud (specializing in Thai Cuisine) and now Kayumanis Nusa Dua (fine dining Italian cuisine)

These were the dishes Ian and I tried last September, I will mark my favorites. What made the dining experience special was the non-monotonous flavors we tasted. Every meal was a surprise, we tasted something different meal to meal, and that is a good thing! I don’t know if they make this menu regular or they customize it for us for the occasion, but if you pay a visit in the future, just ask them! My favorites are not to be missed :p

So that was the summary of the wonderful set of food we had. I would like to thank Chef Denny and Mbak Ami for their warmest welcome and the magnificent lunch. Guys, if you’re planning to go to Bali, don’t forget to pay a visit to this beautiful restaurant. You can make your reservation online via: www.makanluar.com (very practical restaurant bookings!), taste the food yourself and enjoy the place, seriously.

PS. Kayumanis Nusa Dua Private Villa & Spa has about 20 rooms (if I remember correctly) and is one of the main destinations for honeymooners who travel to Nusa Dua, Bali. It’s a peace and quite area, as you might know. Might be a good idea for you bride and groom to be, eh? And their Piasan restaurant is often used as a pre-wed photo spot and wedding party venue too, so there, I’m giving you another idea, hehehe….

The famous independent English-language #bookstore in #Paris that has been featured in films such as #BeforeSunset, #Julie&Julia, and #MidnightinParis. It is located at Paris' Left Bank (La Rive Gauche), opposite of #NotreDame (so it'd be easy to find 😉). The bookstore was originally founded by Sylvia Beach (American) in 1919 where both leading French writers and expat writers at the time used to gather (including #Hemingway and #Fitzgerald!). It was then closed in 1941 due to German occupation. In 1951, an #American named George Whitman opened a bookstore called "Le Mistral" and renamed it to "Shakespeare and Company" in 1964 to pay tribute to Sylvia Beach. He even named his only child Sylvia too, who in 2006, was appointed to take charge of the place.

That's a lot of #history right there, but I'm always fond to know how a certain place can stand still and be fully operative until today after sooo long. Anyways, these pictures are from 2013. In 2015 they opened a #cafe just right next door! A bookstore and a cafe altogether, what more can you ask for 😍 Definitely one of the places I gotta go back to. ❤

Why does this #glicoman billboard seem like such a big deal? Lima instalasi sebelumnya masih pake lampu neon.
By the way, satu hal yg gue sadari, #traveling jadi salah satu cara untuk gue belajar/mengetahui banyak pengetahuan umum... setelah mengunjungi tempatnya. Biasanya kalo mau jalan-jalan gue nggak pernah cari tau terlalu banyak soal tempat yg mau gue datengin sih (efek menua, 3 tahun terakhir ini niat riset sblm berangkat berkurang, liat ntar aja pas udah sampe 🤣🤣🤣). Semacam nyocokin apa yg udah gue liat sebelumnya sama informasi yg gue temukan #online.

Either way, I love that traveling allows me to learn and #discover so many things. This usually helps when we're socializing in daily lives 'cuz we'll have so many stuff to talk/exchange about 🙌

#osaka #japan my bebe chanelling me: thinking of what to do this #Sunday. (actually, I have a lot of stuff to do, but zero will power 🤣🤣🤣) A #landmark so iconic it's worth romanticizing about. 😍

I hopped off my friend's car and snapped this #view right before we walked into the main complex. It was almost dark but I got some #sunset "leftover" which made it perfect, 'cause I always love purplish #sky. Not long after it went dark and the tower lit up. So I thought... why not chill for a bit, albeit turned out it was more like "chillin' in a chilly weather" 🤣

Oh, in case you ever wonder (like me) on how #iconic this tower can get, #Wikipedia even has its own #section called "Eiffel Tower in Popular Culture" that list down all the #films that have made Eiffel (named after engineer Gustave Eiffel whose #company designed and built the tower in 1887) part of their #scenes... from any kind of plots!
